About the Tri-State ATV Club

One of the special projects we do is road clean-up. On the second Tuesday of each month, we meet in the morning at the intersection of SR 9 and the road to the Sand Hollow Recreation area to clean up all the trash and debris along the road to the Sand Hollow Recreation area. Sand Hollow supplies the dumpsters for us at the end of the clean-up.

Other special projects include trail maintenance, the addition of amenities such as picnic tables and restrooms in popular locations, getting involved with other organizations in efforts to be good stewards of public lands, and more. As a not-for-profit club, the Tri-State ATV Club donates to the following organizations and encourages individuals to support them as well.

August, 2024

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024 14 members of the Tri-State ATV Club completed a service project for the US Forest Service at the Panguitch Lake Guard Station. The Tri-State crew members were AJ & LaRue Billings, Steve & Renee Jacob, Leon & Dannie Graves, Lander Novak & Tami Schutt, Brad & Mishelle Cary, Steve Forbes, Conrad Engeness, Glen Whipple and Arield Wasem.

The project consisted of repair work to an existing Lodge Pole Z-Fence on the perimeter of the Panguitch Lake Guard Station. Numerous footers that supported the old fence were replaced with new logs. Numerous top rails were replaced along with a few mid rails that needed to be replaced. Old fence materials were collected along with new fence materials that were left over and loaded onto a trailer for disposal.

After the work project the group loaded up and did a ride around Haycock Mountain and up to the top of Cooper Knoll and a stop at the petroglyph site on Lava Flow Rd. We ended the day with a good meal at the Burger Barn. Weather cooperated with clear skies for the workday and a few sprinkles to keep the dust down during the ride.

December, 2023

The Tri-State ATV Club completed this special project on December 14th, 2023. AJ Billings spearheaded the project to replace an old barbed wire gate with a new metal gate at the 3 Corners Monument (Utah, Nevada, Arizona). The club donated the gate and hardware as well as a picnic table along with the installation labor. Travis Parker of  Streamline Steel provided the metal for the signs. Thanks to the following folks for this expertly installed gate and table. Steve Jacob did a terrific job driving his truck and trailer loaded with the table and gate through narrow and rough terrain without taking out any Joshua trees along the way!
