Approximate Ride Miles: 70 Miles
Trail Rating: Intermediate
Number of Machines Limit: 16 to 20 Machines
Meeting Place & Time: We will meet on County Road 5 (River Road Exit on the Southern Parkway Rt7) Approximately 3.7 miles south at 8:45AM. (36.957014, -113.555392) There is a trailhead at the site. If you trailer recommend you park just south of the Southern Parkway in one of the open sites on the west side and ride your vehicle to the trailhead as the road is somewhat rough. Look for the large yellow signs on the right side of the road.
Summary of Ride: This is the same ride that was used in previous jamborees. It will include traversing Mocaac Mountain where we will examine some interesting watering capture options. We will then come around to the old town site of Wolf Hole. One of the first communities south of St. George. From there we will travel along the base of Segmiller Mountain and up to a spine where we will view the “little Grand Canyon”. We will again drop down to the valley and continue around Segmiller to some corrals and then climb Segmiller. If time permits, we will proceed to the radio towers on Segmiller for a majestic view of the area. We will then come back to County Road 5 to return to the trailhead.
Special Comments: Both the area on Mocaac and the climb of Segmiller are somewhat steep and rocky but very navigable. This will be a full day. Bring your lunch and plenty of water, and a full tank of gas. If you’re interested text me your name, phone number, email and number of machines.
