Meeting Place and Time: Parking area just past old Catholic Cemetery in Leeds. Take Silver Reef Road off north Main Street in Leeds for a quarter of a mile. At the first curve continue straight on a dirt road (Bonanza Flat) to cemeteries. Sign says, “Pioneer Cemeteries”. Keep left. Just past Catholic Cemetery on the right side of road is large dirt parking area. Be ready to ride at 9:30 am.
Summary of Ride: We will ride on forest roads to a charcoal kiln, an overlook of the valley and perhaps the most overrated arch in Utah. Peek into Yankee Doodle slot canyon and maybe see some rappelers before heading to an old quarry for lunch. Depending on the whims of the leader and the support of the participants, we may go to the base of Pine Valley Mountain (where St. George takes the water out. Sheer cliffs higher than Zion).
Special Comments: Don’t forget Sunday is standard time–set your clocks back an hour!
